It's just crazy enough to work

This is my attempt to redeem yesterday's crap history comic. I just like the idea that the entire California State Constitutional Congress was a park ranger, a lumberjack, and a poorly drawn John Muir smoking a corncob pipe. Also, don't ask me why the lumberjack got fatter and more patterned.

Well, they can't all be Shakespeare

Not my best work, in my opinion. I was trying to be Kate Beaton, and not succeeding, apparently. Maybe i should have picked someone more interesting than Jesse Reno, inventor of the escalator? I dunno. I'll probably give it more thought before i try it again.

Trying my hand at the journal-style comic

No real punchline here. Just my day at the Wild Animal Park.

Finally getting photoshop has made this both a much, much easier and much, much harder process. Before i got it, using MS Paint, this comic would have been impossible to make, and had i tried i would have been completely stymied by any one of the dozens of problems i encountered while making this, all of which were easily solved in photoshop. At the same time, to make this comic i had to draw it, scan it, layer it, clean up the scanned lines, move dialog around so it would all fit, color it, format it, and resize it, and this process took me about two hours, which is about an hour and forty minutes longer than it took me to make the last two comics.

I don't know why i find anthropomorphic kitchenware so amusing

In its original conception, this comic was much, much more terrible. Less about sink envy and more about accidentally killing everyone.

I concede i'm going for the scatological humor a bit early

Okay, so apparently it was just my laptop. We'll see if this fount of genius continues, then. May just be on a regular M-F schedule because i'm pretty sure i won't be able to do comics this weekend too.

deng

i don't know what's going on - it may be my computer, or i may have hit some sort of bandwidth wall, but whatever the cause, i appear to not be able to upload pictures. This is something of a mixed blessing, because i really wanted to make this a daily thing, but i was also out of ideas anyways. So. Comics on hiatus until i figure out what the hell's going on.

Shit, this one's terrible

Man, don't blame me. Blame Tim's shitty mouse.

Please ignore the political symbolism

So for the record, i'm going for the pun here, not the political humor.

Addendum: I was talking to some people and apparently it is nearly impossible to ignore the political symbolism here. Nevertheless, the joke was not intended to be about republicans, either in support or in criticism. I simply thought it was a good comedic juxtaposition between those ridiculous "Never Forget" posters and the expression "an elephant never forgets".

Homemade Parachute

So that's a sheet in his hand, if you can't tell. I was considering making him a kid so that the joke would read more clearly, but then i recalled that killing children is somewhat frowned upon, even in the funnies. ALSO: this is not based on a real childhood experience. At all.

Moon

So this is kind of an old one, pulled from the folder of random crap i draw when otherwise unoccupied during MQ production. As it's one of the more aged ones, i'm not exactly sure, but i think the earth winking and the moon's pained expression are supposed to imply this to be some sort of anthropomorphic space bukkake.

I think i would have been okay with left hand...

Special Ides of March Extra Comic!

I was going to use this one later, but then i noticed that today was actually the Ides of March, and so it was extra topical.

Concept by Mohammed S.

He's actually mad because the cowboy hat is his

Bad Puns, part I.

So that's it, guys, i think we're done here. I'm pretty sure i peaked, yesterday. It's never going to get better than that. It's all downhill from there. As today's comic is evidence of.

True Stories From Unemployment

I would like to say that this is an exaggeration, but it's really, really not.

Addendum: for some reason Blogger won't allow me to make this image any bigger... so tell me if you can't read my paint-handwriting and i'll go back in and redo with the text tool.

I need some proper tools for this

So i had another idea for a comic today, but sadly could not get my printer-scanner to work. So without a tablet, or photoshop for that matter, i am reduced to MS Paint. Which is, you know, the wave of the future. So i decided to illustrate said, via MS Paint.
